Book Review: Jim Davis and His GeneralsOne of the best-selling books of all time, Jim Davis and His Generals provides a true example of the writing style of Jim Davis. In fact, it has been said that it is the most genuine and accurate writing style that Jim Davis has ever written. However, despite the popularity of this book, few people are aware of its source, its creative process and its structure.The book is dedicated to Sir Charles de Gaulle, whom Jim Davis admires. Like de Gaulle, Jim Davis was in the United States Army and served in the European Theater during World War II. Thus, he has an eye for details and a keen understanding of military strategy and tactics.The book has become popular because of its many wonderful parts and some passages have been called as 'classic.' All these parts are based on concepts, main ideas and thoughts of Napoleon Bonaparte. In the fourth chapter titled 'Front-line Bonaparte,' Davis describes the secret of the powerful operation 'Axis and Allies ,' which was the decisive battle in the Battle of Normandy. After this chapter, he narrates the history of the German General Albert Kesselring and Napoleon's twenty-six battles, including three that were named after him.After the story of 'Axis and Allies,' Davis narrates a story about King George Obama's famous election speeches and how he used to argue with Obama's advisors. In the story of Thomas Alva Edison, Davis narrates his thoughts about the difference between Edison and Franklin D. Roosevelt.The story about Alexander the Great also contains lots of humor is the best way to connect with readers. In the story about Joseph Stalin, Davis tells how Stalin and the Soviet Union were really trying to be a socialist country and how the people in the Soviet Union were really hopeful that the Soviet Union will be a great socialist country in the future.Another part of the book called 'Free Sample Essay' gives a glimpse of the way that Davis developed his story. In this section, Davis quotes sentences that can explain how each book is written.In conclusion, this book is a huge success since it was created by Jim Davis. It is said that the book is so successful, that many Hollywood producers hired Jim Davis to write a movie based on this book.
